"This project investigates the impact of Bollywood films on gender roles and sexuality in South Asian countries. The South Asian countries I focus on are Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan. By analyzing films from these different countries, I argue that Bollywood productions are used as a substitute for sexual health education because there is a lack of sexual health education in these countries...Sexual health education is critically important when it comes to a person’s development, to understand the idea of bodily autonomy and instill a progressive mindset in future generations where both men and women can break free from gender roles and enjoy their sexualities in a healthy manner."
